Gérald Giannini is preparing to turn the page on his professional career! After three decades with de Buedemleër, it is with strong emotion that the company’s first employee is retiring. Devoted, with a great team spirit, dedicated to training and safety, Gérald has evolved as the right-hand man alongside Ben Jungers.
Gérald, tell us about the beginning of this exceptional adventure in the flooring industry…
I was the very first employee of de Buedemleër, joining the company in January 1995, not even a year after its creation by the founders Mady and Roby Jungers on May 1, 1994. Originally trained as a chef, my professional life took a decisive turn when I decided to shift towards flooring.
I met Roby Jungers in another company where we worked together. When Roby decided to venture into entrepreneurship, I didn’t hesitate to follow him.
This choice marked the beginning of a successful collaboration and a professional relationship that lasted 29 years!
Within de Buedemleër, I climbed the ranks remarkably. I started my career as a flooring installer, specializing in parquetry and resilient flooring installation. My expertise in this field quickly became a major asset for the company. We grew together, employing 28 people today.
Over the years, I also took on the responsibility of training young talents in the company, sharing my know-how and experience with the next generation. My dedication to the company led me to various roles, including safety delegate, technician, and finally chief technician. I enjoyed being on my knees installing as much as sitting at my desk managing client files and overseeing project progress.
How are you experiencing this retirement?
I have been fortunate to have a career in a remarkable company. I didn’t see the years go by. But today, it is time for me to join my wife and wander with her through Europe and Canada.
The founders of de Buedemleër, Mady and Roby Jungers, as well as other key members of the company, want to express their gratitude to Gérald for his loyalty.
Mady Jungers :
“Gérald was not only the first employee at de Buedemleër but also a responsible, reliable, and loyal person. Gérald, I sincerely thank you for 29 years of good collaboration.”
Roby Jungers :
“When Gerald, whom I knew as a loyal, friendly and sympatric man, asked us if de Buedemleër needed reinforcements, the only question for us was whether we could offer Gerald a reliable and long-term job. Gerald has always been an important element at de Buedemleër, and he has contributed to the success of the company. Gerald, THANK YOU.”
Ben Jungers :
“Gérald made a career because he was determined to go that way. Gérald’s willingness to step out of his comfort zone allowed him to grow and develop immensely. Gérald adapted to new responsibilities with bravery. His determination, passion, and professionalism were a key factor in the success of the entire team, right up to the last day. Gérald leaves behind a well-trained and strong team and a hole in our hearts. With his departure, we collectively end an era to embark on two new adventures.”
Gérald has been more than just an employee. He has been a pillar of team spirit and the success of de Buedemleër. His retirement marks the end of an era, but his legacy will endure in the company. We wish him a retirement filled with well-deserved moments of relaxation.
