The sunny days are coming and you are looking forward to enjoying them. But you don’t want to have to close your shutters and live in the dark or turn on the air conditioning to keep your home from overheating.
Rest assured, there is a solution that will allow you to protect yourself from the heat and even the cold in winter, while enjoying the benefits of the sun.
Let us introduce you to Duette and Duette Architella pleated blinds; economical in use, ecological and aesthetic: with them your summer will be bright and cool.
In addition to being compatible with almost all types of windows, Duette pleated blinds are great thermal insulators. Effective against both heat and cold, they help maintain a stable and pleasant room temperature throughout the day.
According to a study by the Frauenhofer Institute (IBP-Bericht ESB-004/2011 HOKI), Duette fabrics allow to:
The studies are done under conditions that may not reflect your personal situation. So, if you are curious about the possibilities of saving energy in your home, we invite you to use Duette’s energy calculator.
Pleated blinds fall into three categories, two of which use a honeycomb structure.
1 – Plissee shades.
This type of blind is made up of a single layer of horizontally pleated fabric.
While the cords run invisibly between the layers of fabric for Duette and Duette Architella blinds, they run through holes in the fabric for pleated blinds.
2 – Duette shades.
These blinds are made up of honeycomb cells in fabric, which retain air.
Air is a good thermal insulator, so it creates a real barrier that interrupts the heat transfer between your windows and your interior.
The picture on the right clearly shows these cells.

3 – Duette Architella shades
The Architella blinds have the same honeycomb structure as the Duette blinds, but with an additional inner layer of fabric (in red on the picture) that offers increased energy efficiency.
This makes Architella Duette blinds among the most energy efficient window coverings available.
Since the sun shines differently on each window in your home, you will need to carefully choose which Duette blind model and blackout level will work best for a room, depending on its orientation and sun exposure.
Do not hesitate to ask us for advice, we have been installing this type of blinds in Luxembourg since 1994 and we have many models on display and samples at your disposal in our showroom.
Thanks to its sound-absorbing properties, Duette honeycomb pleats contribute significantly to the acoustic comfort of living spaces. The Fraunhofer Institute confirms in its study* that Duette honeycomb pleated blinds effectively blocks out up to 45% of outside noise.
